The New Bern Police Department, law enforcement partners, and the District Attorney’s Office are committed to aggressively and cooperatively pursuing the investigation of every unsolved homicide. The mission of the New Bern Police Department, Criminal Investigations Unit is to effectively and efficiently investigate any new leads obtained in any unsolved case. This is accomplished through community involvement and the review, classification, and identification of new evidence to solidify the closure of unsolved cases. Advancements in DNA technology and other forensic investigative tools have enabled law enforcement agencies to reopen some cases left dormant for years.
The New Bern Police Department and our law-enforcement partners vigorously seek justice for victims and their families. Through continuous investigative efforts, justice will be served by punishing those responsible for these crimes in our community.
A cold case is determined when all probative investigative leads available to the primary investigators are exhausted and the case remains open and unsolved after a period of two years.
The New Bern Police Department remains dedicated to bringing the person(s) responsible for these deaths to justice and provide much needed answers for the families. Although many leads have been thoroughly investigated, the suspect(s) remain at large. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Bern Police Department 911 center at (252)633-2020, TIPS line at (252)636-5034 or submit a tip anonymously by click here to access tip411. You can also contact Craven County Crime Stoppers by calling (252)633-5141. A reward may be available for reliable information that leads to an arrest and/or conviction.
