The New Bern Police Department is pleased to announce the implementation of a cell phone and web-based application which will allow citizens to anonymously report tips.  Community partnership will positively IMPACT our ability to solve crimes, and create a safer city. 

The New Bern Police Department is embracing new technologies which will allow us to open up a two-way line of communication that will enable citizens to anonymously provide us with information that will assist us in the solving of crimes and create a safer community. You can even attach photographs and videos after you submit an initial tip!

When you submit a tip via any of the three options listed below, it is sent to a 3rd party tip service, which acts as a privacy buffer between you and the New Bern Police Department in order to protect your identity and your contact information. If you have a tip for the New Bern Police Department, you can utilize any of the three options listed below to help provide vital information on crimes, the whereabouts of criminals, or suspicious activity which will assist us in keeping the City of New Bern safe for everyone.

This service is being provided to the public for non-emergency use. Please be aware, tips may not be received by us until the following day. In the event of an emergency, you should always contact 9-1-1.

Submit a Tip:
Option 1: Submit a Tip via Text Message
To send an anonymous tip via text message to the New Bern Police Department, text the keyword NBPDTIP and your tip to 847411.

When the text message is sent to the New Bern Police Department the tipster’s cellular phone number is completely anonymous and is never received by the New Bern Police Department.

Option 2: Download the New Bern PD App
In addition to submitting tips, tip411 assists the New Bern Police Department in communicating with community members on important public safety matters by sending public safety alerts. Community members can sign up for all New Bern Police Department alerts or customize their alerts. Types of alerts may include public safety messages, re-routing traffic due to an accident, or other public safety matters.

Option 3: Fill Out the Form Below
Use the form below to submit your anonymous tip online. After submitting a tip using the web service, you will be assigned a six-digit code with numbers and letters. That is your anonymous ID to log back into the system.
