Accounting provides a variety of financial services to other City departments as well as vendors and outside agencies. The Accounting division performs all the accounting functions for the City of New Bern including, but not limited to:

Accounts Receivable
Payroll
Accounts Payable
Fixed Assets
Fiscal Reporting

Grants Management
Cash & Investment Management
Debt Management
Budget Management

The Accounting division is also responsible for preparing and managing the City's annual budget, establishing the Schedule of Fees and Charges, and providing financial data relevant to the preparations of the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
