New Bern Fire-Rescue is certified by the Office of the State Fire Marshal as a "Permanent Checking Station." Currently, 27 certified awareness level and 13 certified technicians are on staff to perform child passenger safety seat inspections. An average of 25 child passenger safety inspections are done each month.
Friday child safety seat checks resume on Friday, 10/9/20. At this time, checks are by appointment only, with half-hour slots available starting Fridays at 1:00 p.m., with the last slot available at 4:30 p.m. Call 252-639-2931 to make an appointment.
