The park was closed in March due to COVID-19. The park recently re-opened as part of Governor Cooper's Phase 2.5.
While the park was closed, playground renovations included: Painting the component structure, new playground borders, new playground mulch, a sidewalk was added to access the playground, new swings, new tire swing, the Astroglide was repaired, and a music station was added.
