Hours of Operation:  Daily from Dawn to Dusk. 

Martin Marietta Park is the newest and largest park in the City of New Bern Park System.  This park is located on the site of a former quarry previously owned by the Martin Marietta Corporation.  In the late 1990's the City of New Bern acquired approximately 800+ acres, primarily water.  In 2017, the Martin Marietta Corporation graciously donated 55+ acres to help form the new park.  In 2018, McGill Associates completed a Master Plan for the park site.  During the master planning process, considerable public input was received for the project. 

In late 2018, the City of New Bern received a North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) Grant ($475,000) to complete phase 1 of a multi-phase project.  Site amenities included in phase 1 include:
  • Infrastructure (roads, water/sewer, electrical) (Phase 1 complete)
  • Restrooms (completed)
  • Shelter (30x80) (completed)
  • Playground (completed)
  • Walking Trails (7+ miles) (completed)
  • Canoe/Kayak launch (2 completed)
  • Fishing Pier (completed)
  • Observation Deck (completed)
  • Gravel Parking (3 completed)
In early 2019, the City of New Bern received a CAMA grant ($97,500) for site improvements such as

  • Soft boat launch (Completed)
  • Gravel parking (Completed)
