he water plant laboratory staff provides daily monitoring of the City’s water to insure that the water supplied to our customers meets or exceeds all state and federal water quality standards. New Bern’s water is routinely monitored and tested for levels of iron, manganese, hardness, phosphate and for contaminants such as, lead, copper, inorganic compounds, radioactive compounds, and disinfection byproducts.
