PARKS & RECREATION SUMMER CONCERT SERIES OPENER CANCELLED

The City of New Bern Parks & Recreation Department announces that tonight’s Footloose on the Neuse concert series opener featuring Bryan Mayer and the I-42 band has been cancelled.

In an email from Bill Stafford, Spokesman for the I-42 band, sent to Parks & Recreation this morning, Mr. Stafford said, “It is with deep regret that the I-42 band will have to cancel tonight due to a medical-related issue. The I-42 Band is a high-energy band that must be at full strength to perform.”  No other details were provided.

Interim City Manager and Director of Parks & Recreation Foster Hughes plans to reschedule the I-42 Band as an added concert later in the series.  “We are working with the band to feature them later this summer. We are disappointed with the cancellation but are looking forward to having them take the stage at Union Point Park.” The next concert in the Footloose on the Neuse series is scheduled for May 28th featuring Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot. All concerts begin at 6:30pm.
